Twitter app keeps switching buttons to mess with our muscle memory
So, what’s happening? Well, it seems like Twitter first switched positions of two buttons, ‘Copy Link’ and ‘Bookmark’. ‘Copy Link’ used to be the first of three buttons, followed by ‘Bookmarks’, and ‘Share via…’. Well, the company then decided to move ‘Copy Link’ to the second spot, while moving ‘Bookmarks’ to the first spot. That’s not the end of it, though. That was the situation yesterday, for me (and others), and now it’s once again different. I woke up today to a whole new setup. ‘Share via…’ button is now first, followed by ‘Bookmark’, and ‘Copy Link’. Twitter just can’t seem to make up its mind, or it introduced some sort of automated system. For those of us who use those buttons frequently, well, at least one of them, this is really annoying. Muscle memory kicks in, and something that usually takes two fast taps turns into a proper annoyance, as we end up tapping the wrong buttons. This constant switching is not helping things, at all. I’ve bookmarked well over 20 articles by mistake in the last two days, and now the setup changed again. I’m not sure what’s going on here, but I hope Twitter will stop it.
Quite a few users complained on Twitter
Needless to say, the whole situation managed to upset users who are voicing their concerns all over Twitter. These are reactions to the first change, by the way, not the second one, so you can expect to see more of these in the coming days. If you bookmarked some articles by mistake, you can easily delete them. Simply tap on your profile picture to access the side menu, and from there tap ‘Bookmarks’. That’s where you’ll be able to delete your bookmarks.
