Some new smartphones are made of plastic, metal, or glass, which need attention to be clean. Also, some sensitive parts like fingerprints and cameras must be bare of any dust to work well. Some smartphone manufacturers provide a cleaning cloth in the box, but environmental protection issues have removed these from the boxes. What Samsung has decided to do in Germany is beyond providing a simple cleaning cloth to customers, and it’s a kind of mocking Apple for its $19 cleaning cloth. Apple has recently started to sell a ‘Polishing Cloth’ for $19, and it has become a very controversial issue for the company. While trying to add value to customers, Samsung is also trying to taunt its traditional rival. The Dutch source says, “With this promotion, Samsung is once again building on the rivalry with Major Competitor (capital letters via the marketing department) Apple. The latter caused a stir at a recent event with the launch of a polishing cloth for your iPhone. Price tag €25. Apple’s cloth measures 16 by 16 centimeters, so purely on specifications, Samsung’s free cloth wins the comparison. It’s over 50% bigger – and €25 cheaper.”

Samsung is giving away cleaning clothes for free to mock Apple

The campaign has just started in Germany for Galaxy S20 owners, and it has a limited reach. The message has appeared in the Samsung Members app, and only 1,000 units of these cleaning cloths are available. It doesn’t seem that Samsung wants to turn it into a big deal, and it’s just an act of mocking a weird product. However, this is not the first time that Samsung is mocking Apple for its weird acts or products. Just when Apple decided to remove the charger from the iPhone box, Samsung released a post on its Facebook, saying, “Your Galaxy does give you what you are looking for. From the most basic as a charger to the best camera, battery, performance, memory and even 120Hz screen.” Later, the company deleted the post when it took the same path and removed the charger from the Galaxy phone boxes. Another time, when Apple released the iPhone X without a headphone plug, Samsung made fun of it but later did the same thing on its new phones and had to delete sarcastic posts on social media.
