One UI 3.1.1 debuted on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 foldables earlier this month. The latest iteration of Samsung’s custom Android skin doesn’t bring much in terms of new functionality. There aren’t any noticeable UI changes either. It’s a fairly small upgrade over One UI 3.1 that most recent Samsung smartphones and tablets run. The Korean firm essentially launched One UI 3.1.1 just for the sake of a newer One UI version on its latest foldables. Perhaps that’s why it is bringing the few new features One UI 3.1.1 contains to its older devices without changing the version number. It will remain One UI 3.1 on all other Samsung devices except for the two new foldables. Anyways, the Galaxy A52 5G is gaining a new Bedtime Mode toggle in the quick settings panel with this One UI 3.1.1 update. Well, that’s it when it comes to new user-facing features, according to a SamMobile report. Samsung also promises stability and performance improvements with the latest update, such as an improved Weather app with faster animations. But those are not easily noticeable and are hard to verify, the report suggests. So there’s not much to look forward to on the user-facing end. Still, if you’re rocking the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G, a major new update is on your way soon. The new firmware version is A526BXXU1AUH5 and it brings the August 2021 Android security patch. Samsung has already started rolling out the September security update to its devices, but it’s a fairly recent one as we’re still in August. The OTA (over the air) package for this update weighs in at nearly 800MB.
Some One UI 3.1.1 features are now coming over to the Galaxy A52 5G
Soon after Samsung launched its new foldables with One UI 3.1.1, Samsung started bringing the new features and changes to its older devices as well. Flagships models expectedly got preferential treatment. The Galaxy S21, Galaxy S20, Galaxy S10, Galaxy Note 20, and Galaxy Note 10 have all received this update recently. It’s now the Galaxy A52 5G’s turn to join the fun. You can expect the LTE variant of the phone to pick up a similar update in the coming weeks.
