Flux is a really nice-looking app with a Googley feeling
Flux immediately gave me that Googley feeling, as the app design resembles Google weather design. And by Google weather I mean what you get when you use At a Glance widget and then tap on it, or simply check out the weather via Google search / Google app. That’s immediately a plus for me, as the app looks really nice. It does have a lot more options than what Google offers, though. On top of that, it has a selection of widgets, which you can tune to your preferences. Even their design, to an extent.
It is actually customizable as well
I settled on a really minimalistic design, and love it thus far. You can actually choose between different icons, primary and secondary colors, and so on. Getting this widget to look the way you want is really easy. On top of that, there are a ton of weather providers at your disposal here. Those include MET Norway, HERE, Open Weather, NOAA, Flux, and several additional ones. You can see the forecast for upcoming days, the hourly forecast for the current day, a summary, precipitation, and more. On top of all that, the Radar view is also available via one of the tabs at the bottom.
The app is free to use, and it supports both light & dark modes
The app is free to use, despite the fact in-app purchases are available. I was not bothered by ads during my short usage, even though I’m using a free version of the app. Both light and dark modes are available, and quite a few options within them. Yes, you can set the app to an OLED mode with a pure black background if you want. All in all, this app has proven to be exactly what I was looking for. If you like Google’s design language, and want a customizable weather app with nice widgets, well… give Flux a go. Flux (Google Play Store)
